MLP (Malti: Partit Laburista) was founded in 1921. The party is owner of a radio
and TV station, a weekly and an online-newspaper. MLP is one of the two big
parties in Malta.

The flag is vertically divided
into white and red with the badge in its centre.
Description of badge:
In
a yellow circle there are the words “MALTA LABOUR PARTY”, all in black capitals.
In the centre of the badge there is a white arm, holding a yellow torch with a

The main variant of the flag is indeed the one vertically divided white and
red, with the badge in the centre. The badge, however, comes in several
versions, and at least two of them appear on the flag. The main difference is in
the colour of the outlines: in some cases the outlines are all black, but in
others they are brown. These are the flags that are used in official contexts of
the party, i.e. on party buildings, in the background of party officials etc. In
some cases the badge is on one side of the flag only.

Another version of the flag is plain red with the badge in the centre. This is only used by party supporters during rallies and demonstrations, as far as I can see. Two versions at least appear: one is square with a very large badge, one is rectangular (approx. 2:3) with a smaller badge.

This version looks a bit homemade to me: it is a vertical bicolour of white
and red, the white wider than the red, with a red square with MLP badge in the
white stripe.

This version is divided in 12 fields (3 rows, 4 columns), alternating the MLP
party flag and the EU flag.
